Ngày 1.2, lãnh đạo UBND xã Cát Tiên 3 (Lâm Đồng) cho biết, địa phương vừa tổ chức tuyên truyền, vận động người dân giao nộp vũ khí, vật liệu nổ và các loại bẫy thú rừng.
Công tác thu hồi vũ khí do Công an xã Cát Tiên 3 chủ trì, phối hợp với Trạm Kiểm lâm Bù Sa triển khai rộng rãi đến người dân địa phương.
Qua đó, lực lượng chức năng đã thu hồi nhiều tang vật nguy hiểm, góp phần bảo đảm an ninh trật tự và bảo vệ rừng trên địa bàn.

Cùng với đó, qua công tác tuần tra bảo vệ rừng, lực lượng chức năng đã phát hiện, tháo gỡ 87 bẫy thú rừng các loại, được đặt rải rác tại các khu vực rừng giáp ranh Vườn Quốc gia Cát Tiên.
Từ số vũ khí, bẫy thú được thu hồi cho thấy, tình trạng sử dụng vũ khí tự chế và đặt bẫy thú rừng vẫn tiềm ẩn nhiều nguy cơ, không chỉ xâm hại tài nguyên rừng mà còn đe dọa trực tiếp đến an toàn của người dân khi đi rừng.
Theo lực lượng kiểm lâm, nhiều loại bẫy có cấu tạo thô sơ nhưng lực siết lớn, có thể gây thương tích nghiêm trọng cho cả người và động vật.
Trung tá Hoàng Trung Kiên – Trưởng Công an xã Cát Tiên 3 – cho biết, thời gian qua, đơn vị đã chủ động phối hợp với lực lượng kiểm lâm tăng cường nắm tình hình, rà soát các khu vực trọng điểm; đồng thời đẩy mạnh tuyên truyền để người dân hiểu rõ các quy định pháp luật về quản lý, sử dụng vũ khí, vật liệu nổ và bảo vệ động vật hoang dã.
